Character Name: Alekos Vasilakis

Age: About 93 years old, appears to be around 35-40 years old

Character Description: Alekos is about 5 foot 11, very stocky but well built, with extremely dark coffee colored hair and olive skin (when well fed). His eyes are a deep brown so dark they are almost black. His features are not the pretty boy type—but rather craggy. He has an aquiline note and high-cheekbones, with a full mouth that change from a sneer to a broad grin at the drop of a hat. The best description is one of quite nobility, hidden behind a sometimes gruff exterior.

Personality: Alekos is quiet, but not a loner by any means, which is one reason he opened Nyx. He loves to stand behind the bar and listen to others stories, their day or evening, their dreams. He runs his little bar with a tight fist and an iron will—rarely have their been any problems in it; he will crack a few heads if necessary to keep it that way.

History: Alekos came to America in 1920 at the age of 14 when his parents immigrated to New York to start a new life. He’s known hunger, having barely survived during the Great Depression. His father was a factory worker. Alekos himself worked in a few shops as a child, eventually marrying the girl of his dreams. He opened up a small grocery store and probably would have been content there for the rest of his days had his daughter not been attacked by a vampire. Alekos went looking for the vampire that killed her—unfortunately he found him. The vampires sire, a Master vampire, took a liking to him, held him captive with her seductive wiles and eventually changed him. Alekos lived with this vampire until she eventually grew bored of him and deserted him when she returned to Europe.

A true people person, Alekos has always owned a small business in the Vampire District of any city he’s lived in. He moved to Sanctuary, about 1978,drawn by it’s tolerance to vampires and has run Nyx since then, weathering and adapting to the changes in music styles and fashion with a sense of humor. He’s a sucker for the down and out. He’s not a big spender, even though he’s got a very nice nest egg saved (a habit from having survived the Depression) and he’s got a total weakness for aiding the needy.

Strengths: Alekos is not a master, although he does have to power to roll other’s with his eyes, vampire strength and speed. Although not really psychic by any means, he is an excellent listener and is good at reading others feelings and thoughts to some degree.

Weaknesses: The usual vampire weaknesses. He’s also and sucker for the down and out. He’s not a big spender, even though he’s got a very nice nest egg saved (a habit from having survived the Depression) and he’s got a total weakness for aiding the needy.
