Player Age: 38

Character: Maggie (Marcus) Critelli

Type: Master Vampire, Council Member, known as Harmony

Age:  269 vampire years

Gender:  Male, Castrati; generally impersonates a woman(and can get away with it!)

Appearance: Varies. Original (and current) hair color is auburn. Eyes are dark brown. Height is 5'11". The Castrati tended to grow unusually tall for their time period. Long limbed. Hands long fingered. And Maggie falls stereotypically into the role of Italian who speaks with her hands. His human servant once held his hands still and he couldn't complete a sentence the whole time.

Background: Maggie (real name was Marcus) was born 1707 during the time of the use of Castrati for the parts of female opera singers. He was in his early 20's (he's been a vampire 269 years) when he was turned into a vampire. He continued in opera for a while before disappearing and resurfacing off and on through history, usually in some form of entertainment, including returning to opera several times, generally as a woman. It was during the last time he did this that he met Andre, a former opera singer who had started losing his voice and turned to composing. Andre was 59 when he agreed to become Maggie's human servant. He's probably the only person on earth who can put up with Maggie's personality on a daily basis.

Maggie is one of the few vampires Lee considers a friend. ‘She’ has served on the North American Council for nearly 70 years. Maggie and Andre came to the US after Maggie’s Sire was killed. Maggie hooked up with then Council member, the Scholar, only to find she’d traded away her dignity and Andre’s safety. Only after the Scholar nearly killed Andre, did Maggie find the internal strength to strike back and destroy the older vampire, thus becoming the youngest vampire to take a Council seat. She has yet to be challenged for it. Partly because she has the backing of the Queen of the Council, and the Enforcer, Lee’s support, and partly because she has shown herself to be useful in conflicts with the European and Asian Council’s and human dignitary’s. Also, considering she destroyed a very powerful vampire, others are leery of ending their existance too soon. (Ask her and she’ll admit she had no thought of taking the Council position, just of preventing the Scholar from hurting Andre again).

Maggie is pretty over the top, flamboyant, deliberately outrageous. This very flamboyance can lull someone into thinking Maggie is of no consequence, but he didn't get on the Council for nothing. One of the Council Members who has embraced technology fully, he returned from a series of performances at Radio City Music Hall to discover the mess that Lee was sent into in MB.

Putting in a surprise appearance, Maggie and Andre now find themselves guest at the Alhambra.

Abilities, talents, weaknesses: A diva in opera, Maggie’s vampiric talents lie in his voice. He can use it as a weapon. Break glass, statues, vases, eardrums, even slice through skin, though not deeply. Or use it to seduce, calm, even give the allusion of different tactile sensations, like a hand caressing skin, or silk, or fur...

Other powers are typical of vampires: enhanced speed, strength, mesmerize/hypnotize, roll minds...flying(though she doesn’t like heights and won’t go above two stories if she can help it). Her animal to call is the shark. She’s totally disgusted by this, but does have an aquarium at home that houses a dog shark.

Weaknesses are sunlight(though she can stay awake past dawn, it is indoors protected from light); fire; silver; typical vampire things. And her true self, Marcus, who rarely makes an appearance, but hides beneath the facade of Maggie. Also, hurt Andre, you would hurt her...
