Appearance: Maghnus is a strapping six foot 5 inches tall. His build is lean, but extremely well muscled. Eyes of hazel that change colour in different light gaze out from a face that is strong and handsome with high cheekbones, almost sensuous lips and high forehead. His hair is a deep coffee brown which falls to his shoulders in loose waves which he wears loose and occasionally tied back. At court, he was a storyteller of some renown, often traveling from court to court, but in the past was never afraid to pick up arms in defense of his King. He's pretty understated in how he dresses. Usually can be found in a comfortable pair of slacks or jeans and sweaters and shirts-he might look like a GQ model, but he sure doesn't dress like one.

Personality: Maghnus can be quite serious, with a particularly quick temper, but he does have a sense of playfulness about him-his eyes often dance with mirth. If he likes you, prepare to be teased. If you happen to get on his bad side, or harm a descendant of his: hide.

History: Almost 500 years ago, Maghnus visited the mortal realm and fell in love with a mortal woman in Ireland. He was given leave to stay on the mortal plane and marry her. He and his love lived together until the day she eventually died. They had 10 children together. When she died, Maghnus was heartbroken and chose not to return to Faerie. Instead, he swore that he would continue to monitor his children and their offspring and remain the family's guardian and protector. Finvarra released him from his Court duties and allowed him to stay and he has lived on the mortal realm ever since in that capacity, aiding the descendants of he and his beloved Isabeal when needed.

He currently makes a successful living as a novelist, crafting historical tales of bravery and heroism-most of which he had first hand knowledge of, since he's lived through most of the history he writes about! Occasionally, he does brief seminars at colleges about literature and history. He's moved to Sanctuary because he's heard that a descendant might need his help and is contacting the local University about conducting a series of courses there.
