Name:  Sabrina (Brina) Waters

Age:  28

Type:  Beta wererat

Description:  Rather like the Water Rat in _Wind in the Willows_,small, neat and sleek. She has dark brown hair to midback, usually pulled back or in a more elaborate arrangement, and hazel-green eyes. Her figure's a bit on the generous side and would be considerably more so without the heightened lycanthrope metabolism, as Brina has a taste for the "finer things" in life. She's absolutely meticulous about her personal appearance, though - nails and hair as perfect as possible, clothing that is rarely designer-standard but always well-chosen. The overall effect is quiet rather than glamorous, however - she tends to give a pretty restrained first impression.

History:  Sabrina Waters (the ambient temperature drops noticeably if you call her anything but "Brina" :-) grew up in the South, the only child of moderately well-off parents. At 13, the Waters family moved to Charleston, SC, where Brina spent her high school and college years. While on a spring break trip in her sophomore year of college, Brina took off to explore some of the local nightlife, and inadvertently ran afoul of a just-turned wererat who didn't know his own strength. She wasn't badly hurt (general startlement on both sides was about it), and upon learning that there was no sort of morning-after treatment for lycanthropy, did what she could to make the best of things. Changing her biology studies to a double major in art and business, Brina graduated three years later and began working in Charleston's arts community. She divided her time between selling her own work and acting as a buyer/consultant for local shops, but began to feel restless despite a fair amount of financial success. This, combined with the lack of others like her (weres not being terribly welcome in a Southern tourist town) led to a decision to move somewhere else. Feeling drawn to Sanctuary after a minimum of research, she sank half her savings into a renovated firehouse, bought artwork from all over with the other half, and is the process of setting up on her own.

Personality: Brina manages an odd balance between practical and erratic. ("If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or pie. Or a really big margarita. But make lots of it.") When faced with a problem, she'll throw herself wholeheartedly into the solution, and usually make it work through sheer accumulated stubbornness...it's just not necessarily the most logical solution. She can turn on the Southern charm in an eyeblink, but is fairly reserved by nature and slow to make close friends. She has a noticeable packrat streak (no pun intended) that springs equally from an acquisitive nature and a genuine enjoyment of artwork, particularly tactile things like weaving, sculpture and jewelry. Aside from her own (solitary) experience, she knows next to nothing about being a wererat, having spent most of her time in Charleston in a mild state of denial, but she wants to know about others of her kind.

Strengths/Weaknesses:  Standard were. She has a limited psychometric talent but isn't particularly aware of it, chalking it up to a good imagination if it manifests noticeably.
