Appearance: 5'2", 130 lbs, Samantha has long dark hair and brown eyes. She is attractive, dresses well, and carries herself with confidence.
Background: She has just accepted a job in the university's vampiric Studies Department. Other Universities may have departments that study vampire physiology, and other aspects of Vampirism, but always from a human standpoint. UM wants a curriculum of Vampire history, psychology, sociology, and any other aspect of 'normal' Vampire life. Ms. Tengo is one of the first faculty members hired for this department. She was hired due to her unique qualifications. Several History degrees Wittenburg 1750, Oxford 1820, and Harvard 1900.
Due to the restraints of her vampiric nature, all of her classes are taught at night. She welcomes both 'monsters' and 'nats' in her classes, wanting vampires to have a better understanding of how they fit into 'normal' society and wanting nats to understand the 'monsters' feeling that understanding will ease 'racial' tensions. As one can see by the dates she has attended universities she was a Vampire in the days when they were routinely hunted and destroyed. This gives her a unique insight into the changes caused by Vampire legalization. (one of her favorite research topics.) She normally doesn't like to get involved with the local vampire hierarchy. Sam does pay her respects to the Master in whatever city she happens to be in. But she has found it safer to stay out of the political infighting.
Over the years she has accumulated enough wealth to allow her to live comfortably, and able to pick and choose what job she wants. This job interested her like none before so she packed up and moved to Sanctuary.
She was surprised not long into her first semester to run into an old acquaintence, Lee Snypes. Former lovers, they've ignited the old flames again and are now an item.
Powers: Typical vampiric powers; she's a Master vampire. Her strength seems to lie more in her intellect than in physical powers. She has an amazing memory.
