History:  The Voice is the ghost of a dead warrior. He died in battle while defending the back of his Lord and King. The battle was won, and in recognition of the warrior's deed, the King granted land to his surviving wife and son. The land stayed in the family's hands over several centuries in spite of changes in rulers. The warrior's spirit also stayed on the land...actually, stuck to the area where he'd died.

The small hollow became a pond eventually. The warrior could see the world passing by and tried to contact those who came to the area to no avail...not even his descendants could hear him. Then one day, a much removed descendant fell from his horse and struck his head. The Voice didn't know if  his prayers had finally been answered or if it was the blood that was spilt that did it, but he was freed from the place.

Unfortunately he didn't cross to the other side. He was free of the pond and stuck to the young man. After recovering physically from the accident, the young man began to have visions and nightmares of horrible things. The Voice, now at least relieved of boredom came to the conclusion that the young man was gifted with the vision. And he renewed his efforts to contact his descendent. Persistence or the man's retreat to the bottle finally allowed him to be heard.

Soon after, the Voice learned he could affect the young man and then things around them. He could even leave from the man's sight...no further than perhaps a quarter mile, but it allowed a certain independence. He also suspected that this was due to him being able to draw some sort of energy from the young man, the Seer, as 'Jack' came to be known in local Fey circles;  Mad Jack the Storyteller to humankind. Thus was born the tie between The Voice and Jack.

Abilities/Weaknesses:  The Voice is a ghost and is attached to a person, Jack. He can't leave Jack's vicinity for very long and the farthest he's ever gone has been a quarter mile...snaps back to Jack like a rubberband is attached. He has poltergeist like abilities and can throw things(generally Jack), move things, etc. He's quite knowledgeable (or so he thinks) and is full of unwanted advice. He's also pulled Jack out of the fire several times.
